Doing Our Bit - Making a Difference
Our business is driven by a passion to make people happy. And that goes beyond our day-to-day work.
For several years, we’ve worked with the Memusi Foundation to build a school in Shampole, Kenya. As well as supporting the project financially, many of our staff have travelled to Kenya as volunteers.
We also work locally with charities that make a real difference.
Our core value proposition as a business is that when people feel like they make a difference, they do. This goes for our customer’s employees as well as our own. We aim to empower employees to make a difference is all aspects of life – at work, in their local communities and across the wider world. Examples of this include our Charitable Trust, as part of this we encourage staff to support causes that are close to their heart and by giving them the choice of who to support, we help everyone make a difference to good causes that are important to them. Each year staff vote for a local Charity of the Year and last year this was the Henry Allen Trust.
Our CSR programme offers staff a unique opportunity to work together, to get to know the wider team and themselves in a completely unique setting. As a result, what we’ve see from each group as they return from Memusi or after a local fundraising event is successfully completed, is a much stronger bond and a greater level of commitment, both to their teams and the company as a whole.
In addition to supporting local charities we are committed to supporting the Memusi Foundation in Kenya which works to help children escape poverty through education. As well as supporting the project financially, many of our staff have travelled to Kenya as volunteers.
We truly believe that when people feel like they make a difference, they do and when it comes to CSR, we do more than write a cheque. We support charities at home and in Africa, giving our staff the opportunity to get involved and make a difference.
