My name’s Caedo, and I’m a Team Manager at Personal Group.
I went to Chester University and completed a 3 year degree in Journalism before returning home to Birmingham. I decided to get a job with Sony as a Sales Representative as a stop gap. I knew I didn’t want to become a journalist as there weren’t many money or prospects available – but didn’t know what else I wanted to do.
Whilst at work one day, a gentleman walked in to buy a tablet and I went over to sell a Sony tablet away from the competitors. Little did I know that the gentleman I was selling to was studying what I was doing and decided to come back to the store and hand me a business card – he offered me the opportunity to come to an Assessment Day and apply for the Employee Engagement Executive (EEE) role. I went to the Assessment Day, was invited for an interview and then got offered a job.
I was so excited and nervous but enjoyed being able to work and explore the country with the freedom of a new car, iPhone and iPad. My main goal as an EEE was to become a Premier Leaguer – my main ethos in anything I do is to be the best I can, and if I do something I do it properly or I don’t bother doing it at all.
Premier League provided the opportunity to drive a luxury car, as well as earn extra commission and qualify for more incentives. With lots of work, homework and trial and error I made it in to Premier League in 6 months and then stayed in Premier League. I got to experience buses, car factories, food factories and worked 33 different accounts in 1 year. The job isn’t easy, but if it was everyone would be doing it because the rewards are incredible.
After 18 months in the company an opportunity came up to be a Team Manager, which I had originally set as a goal for 5 years. I was successful with my application for the job and became the fastest promotion to management in Personal Group’s 30 year history. I now run a team of 10 EEE’s and my team name is Athena which represents the company value of “Run it like we own it.”
If someone had told me when I started in July 2012 that by July 2015 I’d own my own home, drive an Audi A5 and have a career in a company I believe in – I probably would have laughed at you.
I can’t recommend Personal Group enough! It’s an environment of winners and a place to really develop yourself on a professional and personal level as well.
