What are the visible signs of workplace stress?
This week is international stress awareness week, so we at Personal Group have gathered together some resources to help you identify and manage workplace stressors. Here we have some helpful information for spotting stress in a colleague.
We all experience stress differently in different situations. So much so that sometimes people are unaware that what they are feeling is stress and may continue on without allowing themselves time for respite.
In these cases, it can be useful for a manager or colleague to point out these changes and ask if there is anything that can be done to help ease their stress.
Reasons for stress can be hard to explain, and although training on stress can be very useful, it is something that is best left to the experts.
If you notice a friend or colleague is suffering from stress, advise them to look into their workplace EAP service, or any counselling sessions that they may have access to. While stress itself is not an illness, if improperly dealt with it and severely affect the sufferer’s mental health.
