I joined Personal Group in February 2011. My first role was in the Business Support Team, where I went on to hold a senior position. In November 2014, I joined the Risk Team as a Trainee Risk Adviser. In November 2015 I was given the role of Risk Adviser.
My experience with Personal Group shows that opportunities to develop and progress professionally are there if you are willing to give a bit more than is expected of you. Your extra efforts are recognised and rewarded.
I enjoy the variety of work that comes with my job; I get to work with different business areas and am involved in various business initiatives. My job is not without its challenges; although the Group is working towards the same objectives, at times people have different priorities. However, part of my job is finding a compromise position and working with people.
One thing that has always stood out for me is the way in which people help each other. Of course, you are expected to work hard, but if you need help or advice it is there.
My best Personal Group memory is the 30th anniversary celebration that look place at Newmarket race course in July 2014. The whole Group was invited along and it was a fantastic evening. Everything was laid on so we were truly spoilt.
